After a year of work, it's time to head back to Switzerland. Sad to leave, but glad to have made such good friends. And proud of Jade Akka.

A last sail on the Pacific, then the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race gives us an impression of the things to come on New Years. We are still amazed by Sydney and all the activities keeping the inhabitants busy

Sporty-trendy-beach Manly, old-welath-Mosman, Zoo with a view and sailing to the Harbour Bridge: it got intense. Not only mind blowing urbanity, an incredible number of sails on a workday, exciting views, but also a good bye ahead stirred our emotions.

After the loneliness of passage and the remote pacific islands Brisbane takes us in completely. But not only because of the circumstances: it's just a wonderful modern city.

Potentially the last passge brings us swiftly from Fiji to Brisbane. However, we suffer autopilot damage and in turn hand steer the boat 24h a day ... We are glad to arrive quickly and appreciate Jade Akka even more.

The last of the three - Polynesia, Tonga, now Fiji. Before the journey turns south into colder climates we enjoy more scenic beaches, steep reefs, big fish like manta rays and local hospitality

Sailing across the Pacific motivated us to prepare extra well. Everything needs to work: from water to sails, from engine to communications, many many systems and items need to be ready. And last but not least: shopping food for a few months travelling!

After an intense maintenance schedule we go sailing with Matthias, Susanna and Georgia. The beaches and the bright sun pay back for all our days of work - for Susanna and Matthias it's exactly the same: a short easter break from their challenging jobs.

Baja Sur brought us new friends, amazing food & two very special guests. Besides very scenic remote island walks with elephant seal sights

First steps on the way - and back - and back out again. Nice sailing, more and more southernly looking landscape. And finally we made it in time to LA

Working hard, exploring intensively & relaxing joyfully. San Francisco and the Bay Area are our home for a few weeks. We fix a broken halyard, observe wonderful sunsets, explore Yosemite and enjoy a few days of rest.

Back into the US, we observe orcas hunting from our down-town Port Angeles anchorage. Now we are under way towards Seattle - taking it easy as we wait for parts to beautify Jade Akka
